Hello and welcome!
Being creative has always been a big part of who I am as a person and it's what I always want to keep close to me. It has been hard to keep it alive sometimes through the many cooperations saying the arts aren't worth a living wage but this new store has inspired hope in me.
As a kid I had a very wild imagination and would hand write stories until my hands hurt. Later in high school I dove into drawing, painting, and photography, I even learned a little graphic design. After school I learned how to work with clay and make different kinds of jewelry. I had discovered all these things I loved to do but there was one problem with all of them, I had no idea how to make a living off of them. I wrestled with the idea of trying to sell my creations online but I was too scared by the horror stories of small creators getting screwed over and losing their money. That's certainly not something I could afford.
I felt like I had to suck it up and get "a regular job" doing retail in order to be able to pay the bills. I work part-time in a paint department and although I do have good moments seeing the customers excited about their new paint projects and helping them make it real, it is not my dream job. My dream job is making things with my own two hands that bring a smile to people whether it be jewelry, birdhouses, or whatever else I can come up with.
So I'm taking a leap of faith and launching my first ever store here and I want everyone to know that all are welcome here. Thank you, truly, for giving my store a look.
